Angella Lipskaya was born in Moscow. She studied animation direction at the School-studio "Shar" and Graphics at the MGUPP (Moscow State University of Printing Art named after I.Fedorov), Moscow academic art Lyceum of the Russian Academy of arts (MAHLE RAH). She worked at the Moscow State Academic Children's musical theatre named after N.Sac. Also worked as art director in animation, advertising and scene painter.

All of Angella Lipskaya's films are independent, shot without producers’ sermons and anyone's financial support. Angella made all the films on her own: she performed all the roles, from artistic director to composer and animator. The exhibition presents Angella’s diploma work as a student of the SHAR School and Studio. Angella’s mentor Ivan Maximov supported her idea, and, what was especially important for her, gave her complete freedom.

The film is original, and the author can in no way be blamed for falling under the influence of teachers or other authors, which so often happens with students. Moreover, the real surprise is that the film, shot in a Russian cultural institution, uses uncommon collage technique with the author’s own photos, images found online, and quotations from famous films. The film does not have a clear storyline, but absurd humour and unexpected interactions of characters make it special. No wonder the film received various awards at international festivals, including the Russian ones.
